The Government of Anguilla (GOA) has officially handed over the management of .ai domain registrations to Identity Digital, following the partnership between the two organisations established last October.

This transition was of historic significance for several reasons. Firstly, the transition was seamless, with no downtime or disruption to the .AI domain, which currently has over 600,000 registered domain names. The rapid transition brings important developments for the .AI TLD, such as 24/7 global support, as well as an ever-expanding list of features that will benefit registrars, businesses and entrepreneurs both now and in the years to come.

Secondly, the transition marks the beginning of a new era for .AI and Anguilla. Today, registrations for the new domain names have reached an all-time high, with 164 registrars making .AI available to the world. This means that over 90 per cent of registrars worldwide are able to sell .AI domains, giving Anguilla access to a new global sales channel.

The growth of the domain not only helps to diversify the country’s economy, but also paves the way for the island’s digitally connected future. In this future, .AI will continue to be a hub for innovation, significantly driving Anguilla’s digital transformation. And Identity Digital will continue to support Anguilla every step of the way.
