CloudLinux OS Solo
CloudLinux OS is designed for installation on Solo VPS or VDS servers with a single hosting account. This edition differs significantly from the others: it does not include LVE resource limits; only the inode limit can be configured. It is not available on CloudLinux OS 6 or 7.
CloudLinux OS Admin
CloudLinux OS Admin is designed for shared hosting providers who wish to seamlessly migrate their large shared hosting customers to individual VPSs whilst retaining the same CloudLinux features as on shared hosting. At the same time, you will be able to isolate such users’ websites where necessary and, for greater efficiency and added security, isolate them using CageFS.
It may also be suitable for a small server hosting up to 5 clients.
Most of the features of CloudLinux OS Legacy are also available in this release, with minor differences:
- LVE limits are disabled by default (they can be enabled at any time in CloudLinux Manager);
- The MySQL Governor and reseller limits are not available;
- The licence does not permit the server to serve more than 5 users.
CloudLinux OS Legacy and Shared Pro
CloudLinux OS Legacy (formerly Shared) is designed for shared hosting providers. It isolates each customer into a separate ‘Lightweight Virtualised Environment’ (LVE), which allocates and limits server resources – such as memory, CPU and the number of concurrent connections – for each web hosting tenant. This ensures that tenants cannot compromise the stability of the servers, which could cause all websites to slow down or even crash. To prevent security breaches, CloudLinux OS also ‘cages’ tenants off from one another. This prevents unstable scripts or malicious programs from spreading across client sites and causing serious damage.
CloudLinux OS Shared Pro complements the features of Legacy with PHP X-Ray, AccelerateWP and centralised monitoring.
