The .me domain extension is Montenegro’s country code top-level domain, administered by doMEn d.o.o. under the supervision of the Montenegrin government. The extension was introduced in 2008 and, at the time of its launch, was deliberately promoted through an international marketing campaign, capitalising on the fact that ‘.me’ means ‘me’ in English.

As a result, .me domain names have become extremely popular not only in Montenegro but also worldwide for personal websites, portfolios and brand names, and there are now hundreds of thousands of registered .me domain names.
