On 26 May 2026, the day AlmaLinux OS 10.2 ‘Lavender Lion’ was released, the CloudLinux team announced the stable release of CloudLinux OS 10.2. The LVE layer, the mod_lsapi module and the PHP, Python and Node.js Selector packages have been recompiled for the new kernel.
Kernel and LVE
- CloudLinux 10.2 uses the AlmaLinux kernel without modification: 6.12.0-211.7.3.el10_2.
- The LVE kernel module: kmod-lve-2.1-63.el10, compiled for the new kernel ABI, with Secure Boot support.

OpenSSL supports the ML-KEM, ML-DSA and SLH-DSA post-quantum algorithms via the PQ encryption sub-policy. As both PHP 8.3 and 8.4 are available, when installing a PHP extension, it is worth checking which version the package is intended for; the release notes for AlmaLinux 10.2 and Rocky Linux 10.2 also highlight this.
A full list of changes can be found in the AlmaLinux 10.2 release notes and the CloudLinux changelog.
Installation and updates
There is no ISO image for CloudLinux 10: you must first install AlmaLinux OS 10.2, then use the cldeploy script to convert it to CloudLinux 10.2:
wget https://repo.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux/sources/cln/cldeploy
bash cldeploy --precheck
bash cldeploy -k ACTIVATION_KEY
We have outlined the detailed steps in our article on installing CloudLinux OS. An existing CloudLinux 10.1 system can be updated as follows:
dnf clean all && dnf update
The /etc/os-release file continues to identify the system as AlmaLinux, whilst the CloudLinux components are checked by cldetect and cldiag. CloudLinux 10 users with an active subscription can upgrade to 10.2 at no extra cost.
How long is it supported for?
According to the announcement, CloudLinux 10 follows the RHEL 10 lifecycle, with full support lasting until 2035. Previous releases in the 10 series:
- CloudLinux OS 10 (October 2025)
- CloudLinux OS 10.1 (November 2025)
A day later, the point release of the 9 series, CloudLinux OS 9.8, was released.
Our cPanel hosting plans run on CloudLinux, so you can choose the PHP version for your websites yourself using the CloudLinux PHP Selector, from 5.1 to 8.5; CloudLinux can also be installed as an operating system on our KVM VPS servers with your own CloudLinux licence.
