.mobi is the generic top-level extension that was launched in 2006, at the dawn of the mobile internet. It was designed for websites that are primarily accessed via mobile phones.

It remains a fitting choice today for websites showcasing mobile apps, mobile-optimised services, and online shops selling mobile phones and accessories. As it is a long-established, well-known extension, most users are familiar with it.

Prices are quoted for one year and do not include VAT. The free transfer does not include a renewal; the fee for the paid transfer usually includes a one-year renewal. How long will it take to be ready?

New domain registration

The registration of .mobi domains is an automated process, so registration is virtually instantaneous; you can start using your new domain name within a few minutes of placing your order.

Domain transfer

To transfer your existing .mobi domain name to us, you will need to disable transfer protection with your current registrar and obtain the authorisation (Auth) code for the domain. The transfer process may take up to 5 days.

How many characters can it be?

The domain name extension in .mobi must be at least 1 character long and no more than 63 characters long.

Special characters

With the .mobi extension, special (accented) characters cannot be used in the domain name.

Restrictions

Anyone can register a .mobi domain name, regardless of nationality or place of business, and without any particular restrictions. Domain names are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
