The domain extension clearly indicates the nature of the content, which makes filtering and parental supervision easier. Brand owners also often register their own names for protection purposes, to prevent others from using them for such content.

Domain transfer

To transfer your existing .xxx domain name to us, you will need to disable transfer protection with your current registrar and obtain the authorisation (Auth) code for the domain. The transfer process may take up to 5 days.

Restrictions

Anyone can register a .xxx domain name, but for the website to function, the registry (ICM Registry) must verify the owner’s membership. Following registration, the registry will send an email to the owner’s address containing a verification link. The free membership application requires the owner to provide their date of birth, accept the terms and conditions, and declare that they are a member of the adult content community. The registry will also verify the email address and telephone number provided. Until the verification process is complete, the domain name will not be activated; in other words, it will remain on hold – which is sufficient for a protective registration.

Whois privacy

The Whois privacy service is available to both individuals and companies, and hides some of the owner’s details in the public Whois database.
