The .ua extension is Ukraine’s country code top-level domain, administered by Hostmaster Ltd. (Ukrainian Network Information Centre). The first .ua domain names were registered in 1992.

.ua domain names are particularly popular amongst businesses and individuals operating in Ukraine. In addition to the direct, second-level .ua domain, third-level, category-specific extensions are also available, such as .com.ua or .kiev.ua.

Prices are quoted for one year and do not include VAT. The free transfer does not include a renewal; the fee for the paid transfer usually includes a one-year renewal.

How long will it take to be ready?

New domain registration

The registration of .ua domains is not usually immediate, as the submitted documents have to be checked; the process may take a few working days.

Domain transfer

To transfer your existing .ua domain name to us, you will need to disable transfer protection with your current registrar and obtain the authorisation (Auth) code for the domain. The transfer process usually takes a few days.

How many characters can it be?

The domain name extension in .ua must be at least 2 and no more than 63 characters long.

Special characters

The .ua extension supports the standard Latin alphabet (a–z), numbers and hyphens. The Cyrillic script used in the Ukrainian language has a separate, dedicated IDN ccTLD extension (.укр), which is not part of the .ua extension.

Restrictions

To register a direct, second-level .ua domain, you must have a trade mark registered in Ukraine or be an organisation or sole trader registered in Ukraine. Category-based, third-level .ua subdomains (e.g. .com.ua) are available to anyone without such restrictions.
